Album Reviews

David GuettaNothing But The Beat | August 26, 2011

I ended up purchasing this album out of sheer curiosity. For some reason I thought it would be like a rendition of DJ Hero where it would be Billboard Top 100 songs with a techno beat. Boy – was I wrong! Mr. Guetta used all original beats and artist such as (Chris Brown, Usher, Jennifer Hudson and rappers like (Lil Wayne, Flo Rida and more) over his feel good sounds. Best Beat Tracks include: “Night Of Your Life”, “I Just Wanna F”, and “I Can Only Imagine”.

Lady AntebellumOwn The Night | September 13, 2011

Country meets adult alternative/pop it’s like a gumbo meets filet-minion. It’s a sophisticated country that even Tim McGraw and Dolly Parton would agree steals the night.  The album reminds me of the cheesy corny love scenes and the type of songs you wouldn’t mind listening at the wedding reception/elevator/on hold with customer service over the phone.  I am not afraid that I am a huge fan of this band, and I can appreciate the love of actual instruments being used to produce the track. Something about this album reminds me of Sunday dinner and a spike iced tea! Best Beat Tracks include: “Somewhere Love Remains”, “Just A Kiss”, and “We Owned The Night”.

Jason DeruloFuture History | September 16, 2011

If you have a 3-day weekend than make sure this album is blaring thru your speakers. The album is far from the usual pop that we have learned to appreciate from Mr. Derulo. The album is like a crash and burn, you have your club hits, to meeting your sweetheart than making up to breaking up. Make sure to lace up your dancing shoes. Best Beat Tracks include:“Bleed Out”, “That’s My Shhh”, “It Girl”, and “Don’t Wanna Go Home”.
