Sideline Story to the Journey of Endometrial Cancer

2012 brought to my front door a disease called Endometrial Cancer a new journey to my sister and our family. My sister has made some sort of acceptance to her diagnose of Endometrial Cancer but ooh boy is it a journey. She has kept her humor, her love of family and life. It seems that since she has started the first step to surgery and chemo pills that there our just so much medication. I did not even realize that chemo pills where and option neither did I realize the amount of money that this would cost. It is very expensive to treat cancer and to stay health. Besides the cost, I don’t think I was ready f rte emotions that come along with diagnose. I love my sister with every fiber of my being and will do what ever she needs that includes biting my tongue and times to let allow her to vent all her emotions. Let me tell you when she start’s venting in her own words “She becomes a tractor trailer with no brakes and will take out everyone and anything I her path.”

The best thing to come out of this diagnose is that she has a renewed zest for life. She is up for anything and will attempt at least once. This Holiday we have just enjoyed each other’s company ad have done some amazing things. We took a drive up to Lazy 5 Town Ranch and she became a huge kid as she feed the animals and too some amazing pictures. She is show us all how to enjoy life and have fun! I can not wait to see what else this journey has in store for us! Endometrial Cancer will not beat us we will beat it with, class, laughter and lots of humor. Let's she what 2013 will bring us.

As 2013 knocks on are doors many are making resolutions. I have decided that resolutions will not be on the top of my list this year. I am going with the flow, enjoying every day and attempting to do new things. I have also decide to set boundaries, filter what I think before I say it and sometimes just keep my opinion to myself and shut my mouth. Why!? Because I have walked in the others shoes and even if I have. The hard truth most people really don’t give darn what you think or your opinion. All are out to do them and enjoy there time on earth. Living my life to become a person and those around me will need to do the same. I don’t have all on the answers! I am still trying to decide who I am, what I am truly good and passionate about and where I want to go with the time I have been give. What I learned this year is that life changes quickly and I know I no longer want to live with the what if’s. I want memories for myself and others around me. Yes all not be good but darn it most of them will be full of fun and laughter.

21 Days to Christmas Blues

OK so it is 21 days to Christmas and my feelings is Hum Bog!!!! Yes I know crazy for a self-appointed Christmas freaking freaky elf. Christmas has been my favorite Holiday forever and as the years go by and I become older I just seem to become a Grinch. I look at my year and go what the hell have I accomplished and this year is just living. Not living as in I accomplished my goal of a new job, improved my income and have improved the world in some way. NO just living!!! Still working two jobs, still not happy with the job I am at and trying to hold on to my sanity while dealing with health issues in my family.

I am happy that we all are alive to see this year’s Christmas. I enjoyed spending Thanksgiving with my family and just enjoy family. I learned that no matter what family will prop you up and help you no matter what. True friends will give you support in your darkest hour or when you have hit rock bottom. I am looking for my inner Christmas elf so that I can make it through December and running into 2013 looking for improvement.

I cannot change others but I sure as heck can improve myself. Complaining, cursing the world and blaming everyone in your path get you to the same place that you are. Working on me and removing me from unhappy situations is all that I can do. So bring on the Holidays what I have accomplished in the two weeks since Thanksgiving is to buy the most important gifts on my list for two very important little people in my life. At this point what doesn’t get purchase will have to wait until 2013. What most important at this time is me trying to find a little seasonal happiness enjoying family and true friends.

The Journey "Endometrial Cancer"

Yesterday marked the 45th day in my "redemption phase" journey (Break up, medical condition, surgery, recovery, and more). Through out this process I am learning a great deal about others as well as myself. I stop asking why me and accepted my faith because comparing my grief to others it could be worse. My hindsight is perfect, clearer judgment, tunnel vision and leaving all distractions behind. The journey has been far from easy however early on built my tolerance for what is to come. We are all emotional creatures and immortal so I don't feel I folded under pressure. The good news is you have forever to practice, and get it right. I am a firm believer that life comes at you fast so grab it by the horns. Because of this it's crucial to stop and smell the roses, savor and enjoy life.

Diane Sawyer = Chardonnay

OK, the aftermath of Tuesday’ election is some of the funniest things I have ever heard. The funniest in my opinion is the following by a 90s band called the They Might be Giantes “And Diane Sawyer declares tonight’s winner is …chardonnay!” funny as all get out!!! I watch CNN so I missed her tipsy show. Never heard of the band but they made my day with that comment that I had to share! From this day on Diane Sawyer will always equal to me Chardonnay! Let’s clink glasses…lol! Hey I guess we all have those days when we are looking down at the end of a bottle wondering what has happen.

President Barack Obama

Funny, talking to a few women this morning after reelection of President Barack Obama last night it seems we all breathe a collective sign of relief. That President Barack has been given four more years in office. So congratulations to the president, his reelection campaign staff, all of those that voted for him and let’s turn this country around for the best. Its time to put the future of the country first starting with our children, education, technology and the environment – mainly this country needs to find away to create jobs.

Its time we all worked together regardless of political affiliation and move this country forward so that we can better compete on the world stage.

Rihanna -Diamonds

OK so my sister fell in love with Rihanna first and I fell in line behind her. Even thought she loves her way more…so when Diamonds became one of her favorite songs well hey Riri could sing jingle bells and she would think that it was amazing. At first few listens I did not like it but hey Rihanna and her darn “Diamonds” made its way deep into my heart. For the simple line that is on repeat in my heart “I choose to be happy” and I have finally made that decision no matter what I have made that decision to be happy and enjoy my life daily. So I am hella excited to watch her perform “Diamonds” live at the most sexiest nights on television the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on CBS Tuesday, December 4^th at 10 PM central. Hopefully while that million dollar bra makes it way down the runway. Too bad she will not be sporting the $2.5 million Floral Fantasy Bra Gift Set designed by London Jewelers. That’s what I call shining bright! Rihanna's album "Unapologetic" will be on November 19th, 2012.

Endometrial Cancer

Endometrial Cancer is the quandary that I am looking to help conquer.I happen to be one of those people when faced with a problem I looked to find answers. My latest is to find as much information on Endometrial Cancer which has made its way into my life. The first thing that I have learned is to dig deep down for my strength weakness at this point is not an option. Per my daughter Joi after she gave me a hug “if you are emotional imagine how the person who is going through the issue is feeling!” She is right I am not the one diagnosed I am on the sideline so it is my job to be strong, cheer them on when needed, hold their hand, whip away tears and just listen when needed. I am the support system for my love one as they go through the toughest point in life so far.

What is Endometrial Cancer it is formed in the tissue lining of the uterus that begins in the cells that make and release mucus and other fluids. Scare fact the estimated new cases and deaths from endometrial cancer in the US in 2012 per the National Cancer Institute:

New Cases: 47,130 and Deaths: 8,010

Common Symptoms of Uterine Cancer is as follows:

Abnormal vaginal bleeding, spotting or discharge

Pain or difficulty when emptying the bladder

Pain during sex

Pain in the pelvic area

These are symptoms that should be brought to your doctor’s attention so that you can be properly diagnosed even if it is not uterine cancer it still needs to be treated properly. My journey started with such sites as http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/types/endometrial.

As women we always keep in our minds that a history of cancer makes us more vulnerable to it. Not true neither does age. Learn to listen to your body, keep your appointment with your primary and ob-gyn to keep yourself health.  I have taken a personal interest in Uterine Cancer and will keep the Glitter Family updated. Most import the early that Cancer is found the better you can fight it and win!

Enjoy Life

Here at Destruction we Scream it constantly to live life as if tomorrow is not Promised. It is not we just live like we will have tomorrow or the next day or even the up coming year. Until something comes at us faster then expected and we are left facing our immortality. Yes just as we our born death is the only thing that is promised to us. I am not saying not to make future plans and to live completely young and free but take the time to enjoy your day. Tell those that you love how much they mean to you don’t wait until it is too late or for unexpected news to come to you. Take the time to really enjoy your life many of us push amazing things that we would like to do back for the right time but that time may never ever come if life is cut down quickly. 2012 Presidential Debate

The topic will be Domestic Policy at the University of Denver in Denver Colorado. You can watch on the following channels C-SPAN, ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. As well as the cable channels CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. It will also be streamed live.

Haitian Pride PRAJJE 1983

OK I felt such an amazing sense of pride when I came across PRAJJE 1983 fashion line.  A little blurb in the October issue of Elle. The designer is Prajje Jean – Baptiste an Haitian immigrant. I was completely blown away that an immigrant like myself followed his dreams of designing clothing! A dream I let fall by the wayside long ago but this young man has not. I hold him up to my daughter who is a future designer herself. His clothing is amazingly colorful, fun with a little twist of the Island. I can not wait to see what lays in his fashion future! Honestly I love a man not shared of fashion with that little touch of Flair and Prajje has it. Dapperness that my dad has who meticulous picks his cloths and how it is put together down to the color of his socks. Fashion is more about cloths, the price tag and the names but how it is put together to express you.

31 Days of All hallows Eve

I love, love Halloween I guess because it’s a very old celebration that date backs about 2,000 years. The origins of this celebration that date’s back to the ancient Celtic’s who celebrated a festival called Samhan. When that area around which is know Ireland, Northern France and what is the United Kingdom celebrated the New Year November 1. That marked the end of summer and the beginning of winter and time for harvesting. The Celtic’s believed that the night before the New Year October 31^st that the lines between the world of the living and the dead were blurred. There celebration of Samhan was based on this belief that the ghost of the dead walked around that night.

It’s just a cool concept that many still believe that the ghost of the dead walk around causing mischief. I would not put it past one to take the one sock from my pair. It seems my socks always go missing. Or I may lay down an item and it ends up some where else. So could it be me who is not mindful of what I do or is there a spirit out there running a muck causing mischief. Just think Samhan, was incorporated into the Roman Church as All Saints Day which also takes the time to remember the dead with the celebration of All hallows Eve that end up being Halloween.  Were we hide behind mask are in attempt to mask ourselves from those mischievous ghost and sprits of the dead. Remember lots of holidays that are celebrated have roots in early Pagan celebrations.

With that being said I am going to attempt to do 31 days of Halloween stretching my creative pencils and see what maybe! Perhaps a few mischievous little ghosts may help. Hopefully you all will enjoy and leave a comment or too to feed my writing frenzy!
