Ghostly Love His Side

Love my heart swells
as I look up at your
Silhouette on Ole Hallows Eve
have you spot me yet?
as I stand under our
favorite Oak Tree
slowly our eyes meet
those beautiful pools of passion
remind me of Honey
as it pours
your eyes always reflected
all emotions
gathering me in making
me safe at all times
your Lips that
so easily set me a Blaze
my love I had to come back
to remind you of our love
death will not abolish
my love it grows stronger
blowing a Kiss
before turning and making
my way back to
where I lay
someday you will join me
our love will Transcend
death and time
M Valle 10/31/11

Ghostly Love Her Side

is that you Silhouetted
by the moon
against our tree
Sexy as every
that stance of yours
i loved so much
beautiful you are
still to me as I
watch the Silhouette
of my love
blinking Slowly
i focus again on the
big Oak in the front yard
i look again
outside my window
double checking
your Silhouette gone
laughing to myself as I
slowly make myself
more comfortable on
my favorite spot on the
seat of my windowsill
it never fails
that you return on Ole Hallows Eve
you always said that our love
was to strong to let
a little thing like death
keep us apart
it seems that you are
never to far from me
as I still feel your presence
i smile remembering your laugh
the safety of your arms
Sweet soft kisses that you
Love to bestow on my lips
keeping me safe
thank you my darling
for you protecting me
from myself
even though you are
no longer physically
with me
slowly looking up
again your back
Silhouetted against a
big beautiful Full Moon

All Hallows Eve

Halloween started out as the celebration on All Hallows Eve which is the celebration before “All Soul’s Day” on November 1. Were they celebrated all the Saints in heaven that were prayed to for intercessions this was celebrated by Roman Catholics, Episcopalians and Lutherians. If you go back to Pre-Christian times in Scotland, Wales and Ireland celebrated Hallowtide the feast of the dead in the Pagan times this would signalized the close of the harvest and the start of the winter season.  All of this is based on religious traditions, folklore and sacrifices, where people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward of ghosts that may have been roaming.

Today it is more community and child friendly activities such as trick or treating as we all get ready for the colder nights and shorter days.It seems that celebrations that we practice are based in religion and folklore combined. It amazes me how some traditions and celebrations that survive through time and history. Have a safe, fun, time as you collect treats.

Adele Covers December Cosmopolitan

Another one of my loves on the cover of one of the sexiest magazines yes Adele. She looks absolutely sexy in animal print dress. She discusses how she was signed to her label due to a friend uploading some of her music on a Myspace page. She discusses her writing process from a broken heart from her first teenage romance which became 19 and 21 albums. That baking cupcakes relaxes her and the person whose opinion matters most to her is her own and that you can never have too many eyelashes. If you love Adele then pick up Cosmo Magazine when it hits stores on November 8.

Destruction of Glitter

It has been one of those weeks with lots of pain and hurt. It is amazing what the pain of others will create. Never take life for granted ever, love the ones that you love fiercely and enjoy life! Life and tomorrow are not promised with that said I bring to you:

Destruction

chaotic thoughts
running through my mind
pain over fills my soul
stretching at my limits
my limits are stretched
no longer able to focus
finding peace in my shot glass
Jose’ is my best friend
fueled by anger
anger fuels me
it pushes me to destruction
Destroying myself
ravaging all those around me
I will drag you into
My
   Hell
Unfair? Yes
but you love me
is what you constantly buss in my
  Ear
so open up and drink
my pain
as I scream destroying the
   Perfection that is you
Love

On stands today; October 18, 2011 T.I’s (Co-Written by: David Ritz) “Power & Beauty”, Novel! The book is expected to be a trilogy.

In Remembrance "Amy Winehouse"

An afternoon listening to Amy Winehouse - - I loved that girls music. I loved her because of her talent, vocals, and her flaws. At times she just channeled pain, hurt, and just bared her heart and destruction so all could see. Honestly, I can relate to her because I also have my flaws and could relate to her pain. It has taken me a few years to love me and not worry about what the world thinks of me. Place the love of me ahead of loving someone else because I am the only person responsible to make me smile, happy, without a drink or any other crutch. With that said my poem which was created from listening to “Frank”,  and “Back to Black” this is what leaked from my pen onto the pages of my journal.

Flawed
  Bruised
      my heart
Memory’s flood me
     Running through my mind
          Like an old
Black and White movie reel
   The only thing that hold
        them back
                  Sits in a glass
Jack and Coke
    Fading me to Black
         While squeezing you
Out of my mind, heart, soul
Kicking you out of my Bed
Tired of replaying the past
On fast forward
As my heart
     Heals
           Slowly
I breathe new life
              Into me

God and the GOP

Okay, so all who read this blog (Destruction of Glitter) by now understand my love of LZ Granderson’s commentaries on CNN.COM Weekly. He always gives me a chuckle especially when he is discussing current events that effect us all. His latest entitled “Who does God want in the White House?” cause me to shake my head and laugh out loud. I honestly do not believe that the Creator of this universe honestly cares about who is sitting in the White House but how the people in this world are surviving.

A quick look around world news and there are a lot of people in need of help beyond those who seem to think just invoking the name of God will give them a pass. Since it is political season I would like to hear more than God has called them to run. I would like to know how you are planning on helping this country, care for its health, education, create new jobs, and helping the underprivileged individuals.

If you were “called” then it’s time to help those in need. When I think of the creator calling on us daily it is to make a difference in the lives of others even if it is with a smile. If the creator is love then it is time for compassion for all that we share this planet with!

Angelic Adele

All of these words whispered in my ear| Tell a story that I cannot bear to hear | Just 'cause I said it don't mean I meant it | People say crazy things | Just 'cause I said it, don't mean that I meant it | Just 'cause you heard it..”
(“Rumor Has It”, Adele; 21 | 2011)

The queen of the Billboard Top 100 and owner of that triumphed voice is none other than Adele. Her stardom peeked spring this year, however, the singer and song writer has been in the industry for many years. TEN times Platinum in the United Kingdom, and FOUR times Platinum in the United States, and 2 time Grammy winner is surely to be 2011 artist of the year. "Rolling in the Deep", "Turning Tables" and "Someone Like You" has the most radio spins and just about every artist has unanimously named her an artist to watch out for! Her voice touches all from young hearts to older ones you cannot help but to love her voice, lyrics and soul!

Reed between The Lines Premiering Tonight

OK, I am very excited to watch BET’s new show Reed between the Lines. I can not wait to see the positive image of a Black family on television. A show that can be enjoyed as a family and not be fearful of the images that will come across the screen. It’s been a long time since a great image of what a Black Family can actually be like. Honestly there probable are a nice amount of positive Black Family’s out there. Hopefully BET does an amazing job of giving families a great time as we sit in front of our televisions tonight to get a first glimpse. Premiering at 10 Pacific & 9 Central

Give A Damn

As a parent I think the hardest thing for us to come to grips with is that are children our independent beings. Yes they are combination of both parents but they are individuals outside of their extensions of us. I think the most profound thing that I have read in regards to parenting was from Cyndi Lauper Ms Girls Just Want to have fun. When it comes to raising children “Do not let fear and long-held beliefs interfere with the most important relationship you will have in your life. Lead with your heart and with the love that you have for your child. Just a little bit of acceptance can make a huge difference, and that little bit will grow over time.1”

I know at times I get so wrapped up in trying to give my children the best. That at times I forget the most important thing that children need is love, acceptance, and an open line of communication with parents. I have to stop my self at times because they are living there lives and are not here to full fill so lost glory that I did not accomplish in life. What I do give daily regardless of how good or bad the day has been is lots of kisses, hugs and I never forget to tell them that I love them. I hope that it helps during the day to know that Mommy loves them regardless of how bad the day may go.

It is hard to believe that there are quite a few young people who do not receive this unconditional love do to something like sexuality or sexual preference. Cyndi Lauper’s article “Give a Damn” was a bit eye opening on the runway status of young people who identify with the LGBT community. The fact that lack of acceptance, love and fear cause quite a few children to run and end up living on the streets. A sad fact that it is time we as a community we start to do better by young people love is one of the easiest and cheapest gift that we can share with each other. Check out the website http://www.wegiveadamn.org and lets attempt to better education ourselves and children on accepting others differences.

The Infamous "N" Word

145 years ago the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by former United States President Lincoln, however; we are still held captive by the term N!gger. The term is an English language noun that was/now prominently use (d) to down grade black (African decent) individuals.

The shackles that were used to hold down our accentors are crippling our generation currently and crushing our youth’s future. Instead of rusty metal chains it is in the form of a noun. Our future leaders are not physically changed but entertaining the ignorant term in meaning is the same.

As a relatively still a young person who was not alive to march during the Civil Rights Movement I tend to forget that we are about give or take 60 years from when Blacks and Whites could not drink from the same water fountain, sit at the same lunch counter or attended the same schools. We take for granted I believe the Civil Rights Movement and what people of color had to do to get us to were we are at this point in this country’s history. Per the Veterans of the Civil Rights Movement website the start of the movement started in 1951 when Barbara Jones a 16 year old high school student led her Virginia classmates out on a student strike to protest segregated schools 1. These young people had the courage to fight for the best of education for a better way of life.

Yet we so freely degrade ourselves by using the N word to refer to ourselves. Not just those of us who are not in the public eye which is bad enough but artist who have a huge platform to reach a broad audience. I feel not only do you push us back a few pegs from what the movement was all about but open the door for others to continue to use the word in reference to us as people of color. Just imagine artist like the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Tina Turner who early own were unable to perform in front of a mix crowed. Take a look at some old footage and look at the all white crowd. Image using the N word in front of an all white crowd it would just confirm the negative opinion put out in regards to us as a race.

We all need to be more mindful of the presentation that we give the world. Especial since we are still creating History of such a young country. Perhaps its time to no longer give the word such sting by not using it to refer to are selves in the present as Black people we are strong. Let’s better ourselves by not passing down the use to the children that are coming up after us.

Good Hair

Why, why? Are we still caught up on this good hair thing? Hair is all beautiful no matter if it is extra curly, curly, long, short, straight, and afroed up, dreaded, and twisted. As long as we well maintain and take care of our hair. Its crazy Isaiah Mustafa's Good Hair comment that he made on E! news when he stopped to promote his appearance on Charlie’s Angels gives us an insight into what some men think. I would hope when looking for a person to love, respect and cherish you that more then hair would be up on that list. How is Isaiah Mustafa he is the Old Spice guy from the commercials. Let’s start with intelligence, compassion, ambition, and a hard work, spiritual a sense of humor…No he places the texture of someone’s hair first. Well you know what darling you are going to miss out on quite a few excellent women if that's all you hold in good standard. After the backlash from black the black community he did apologized by calling his own comment “ignorant”. Very ignorant…because I love my natural hair it helps me to stand out in a crowd, along with my sense of humor, intelligence, compassion and ambition. Apology not accepted Isaiah Mustafa because I still believe that you are looking for a woman with that “Good Hair”.

Petition for Artificial Pancrease

What is Type 1 diabetes it is a lifelong chronic disease in which there are high levels of (glucose) sugar in the blood. Most often it is diagnosed in children, adolescents or young adults. Insulin is a hormone produce by beta cells in your Pancreas. Insulin is needed to move glucose into your cells that are stored for energy. In a Type 1 diabetic there Pancreas does not produce insulin or very little. They receive insulin either, by injecting themselves with a syringe, or have pumps.

JDRF supports research to make life easier for those who suffer from Type 1 diabetes. The latest research is the Artificial Pancreas. An Artificial Pancreas will be a device that seamless tracks the blood sugar and automatically administers the right dose of insulin. This will make life easier for all those that have Type 1, parents, schools and those who deal daily with young people and this chronic disease. Please sign the above petition to ask the FDA to make sure the Artificial Pancreas is available as soon as possible.

Pro Life Movement

“…trying to take away a life, is you God (EDITED)? | I don’t think so, this a new life up in my stomach..”
J. Cole “The Lost One’s” (Cole Word: Side Line Story | 2011)

God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them...”
(Genesis | 1:27)

Which side are you own?

This past Sunday; October 02, 2011 I had the ability to witness an abortion rally across from an abortion clinic. My first time witnessing freedom of speech this was a life changing experience for me especially since the only time I have seen a rally is on TV. Many of us take life among many things for granted. The underline question is:
Where would I have been after 13 weeks my mother aborted me? NONEXISTANT! It takes two responsible adults to concept a child. The same life does not or will not have the privilege of his/heir’s life purpose. I couldn’t imagine a world without my brother(s) or sisters and the privilege of teaching my nieces and nephew what I have learned in the past 27 years of my life.

Pro Life MOVEMENT

The other side of destruction believes in Pro Choice! Not all are meant to parent but I also believe in protection, the morning after pill, adoption, termination of pregnancy and yes people lets make some better decisions. Children were not asked to come in this world! Raising them is emotional, financial, and physically draining. Yes it is also a joy but if you are not ready it would probable be tough on all involve. In the end the decision should be on the two people who created the life not the government, churches or Pro Life organizations. I also believe that more education should be given on protection from not only STD’s but protection against pregnancy. While also teaching that sex comes with consequence if you do end up pregnant you will have to make a major decision either way that will affect your life for many years to come!

Album Review Girls of Summer

2011 was arguably the summer for the world's most powerful woman: Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland. The trio all dropped they’re long anticipated studio albums for anxious fans. And of course I had the privilege to hear each one.

Lady Gaga
Born This Way
Released: May 11, 2011

Gaga can do no wrong this is a surely a feel good album. There has not been a bar, lounge, club or establishment that I didn’t hear 1 of her Billboard hits playing from. “You and I” reminds me of a Kenny Roger bit telling a story only thing missing is my bottle of Jack Daniels and my favorite pair of western boots. “Judas” is another favorite of mind makes me want to break out and do the Thriller dance in the train station. “Hair” is a song that gives just about everyone inner strength to live/carry on. The album is certified platinum and she continues to make history.

Beyoncé
4
Released: June 24, 2011

“Count down”, in my opinion should have been the first single off the songstress certified platinum fourth album. This reminds me of battle of the bands/ college tailgating rallies/ my high school stepping performances. The second single, “Best Thing I Never Had”, is a song suitable and related able to any imbecile that has ever tested you’re your patience and not to mention: “…sucks for you right now” catchy? Another track that stands out that reminds me of a Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys or even Mary J Bilge, not vocally but from a emotional stand point, where pain and agony can be heard thru the words actual emotion and feeling. Majority of the time the singer is almost always programmed and robotic. I felt almost a sense of courageousness on “I Care” with lyrics such as: “Aint nobody tell me this is love |When you’re immune to all my pain | I need you to tell me this love| you don’t care, well that’s okay…” can sums up everyone emotions after a bad break up, HUMPF, can I get AMEN?

Kelly Rowland
Here I AM
Released: July 22, 2011

Out of the 10 songs on the album, “Turn It Up” is my top pick. “Motivation”, did exactly that over the summer for everyone. “Work It Man”, “Feelin’ Me Right Now”, brings out the sexy bossy side of Kelly maybe even her, alter-ego, shall we say? Whatever it is confidence, or cockiness is rather sexy and needed here and there from her. Overall the album is a good product from Ms. Kelly for her third studio album, regardless if not certified gold yet.

Keep the heat coming ladies so that we can warm up during these Autumn evenings. One lady to watch is Melanie Fiona with her new song 4 AM… “Pull me up a drink I swear I need it” Be on the look out the girl is fire all the way. She is also burning up the air waves with Cee Lo Green on the song Fool For You. Her second studio album The MF Life on October 25, 2011.

Best Hip Hop Crew Ever

I belong to the youngest Grammy nominated crew.." ••••Drake | 2009
I grew up on Wu Tang Clan idolized the Ruff Ryders and was obsessed with throwing up the diamond/dynasty sign for Rockafella and lets us not forget Murder INC. Over the years new crews transpired such as: Junior Mafia, Saint Lunitics, DTP, Cash Money, Flip Mode, Death Row Records, Dipset and many more.

BET named Diddy/Dirty Money as: "2011 Best Crew". However, (no disrespect) let's give credit where credit is due, shall we? I mean after all this isn't "Diana Ross & The Supremes". Each individual in the camp should equally be able to represent for the crew.

Are You Inked Up?

"Tat-Tat-Tatted Up, New York Tatted Up, Tat-Tat-Tatted Up, California Tatted Up, Tat-Tat-Tatted Up, Houston Tatted Up, Tat-Tat-Tatted Up, Chi-Town Tatted Up”
- D4L, "Tatted Up", (Down For Life | 2006)

Are you inked up? This has become the new trend, nowadays. Clothes no longer make the man. Your strengths are determined by your tattoo sleeve on your arm? Justin Bieber at the tender age of 17 has been announced getting tatted up. Then you have the overly obsessed to skin portraits like: Travis Barker, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie the list goes on and on.

What does your tattoo mean to you? Megan Fox recently announced that she is in the process of removing her Marilyn Monroe image off her arm. She no longer relates to the late great stating: “she was insecure and not a representation she wants to be portrayed as”. Rapper Gucci Man has an ice cream cone/scope on his face. Former rapper Charlie Baltimore decided recently to shave a partial side of her head to tat a German saying. Surprisingly, Drake decided to step out the box to represent his crew by tatting it on his back.

Whatever you decide to get when visiting the tattoo parlor remember it is permanent and not to mention execrating to remove!

They do make it look so easy Congrats and 19 more years.

Dr. Conrad Murray VS The Jackson Family | State

The case started on Tuesday; September 27, 2011 with chilling audio, photos, 911 tapes, and video footage. Is this was not watching the story unfold on CNN I would think it was a EMMY/Lifetime Network drama skit. On Friday, September 30, 2011 judge: Michael Pastor issued a gag order on Friday after prosecutor: Matthew Alford was interviewed on the “Today Show” on NBC disclosing his opinion on a paramedics claim/story. With all that has transpired three individuals who will not be following this trial will be Prince, Paris, and Blanket Jackson. Let’s keep the leader of the Jackson 5 successor’s in our prayers this will prove to be a difficult time for them.

"Marshall Carter"

Dj Fonzy released on: June 20, 2011 a collaboration of Eminem and Lil Wayne. Two of Hip Hops “lyrically” best rappers. The album also features the radio hits such as “How to Love”, “I’m on One”, “Love The Way You Lie”, and “Lighters”. I must say my top pick is “Dear Anne (Stan Part II)”, the track is a parallel to Eminem’s 2000 hit “Dear Stan”, lyrical content wise I am sure Eminem will agree when I say Wayne did the track J-U-S-T-I-C-E!

Track Listing:
