October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month

“It aint easy, growing’ up in World War III | Never knowing’ what love could be | You’ll see, I don’t want love to destroy me | Like it has done my family”

• Pink “Family Portrait”; Missundaztood | 2001

Jamey Rodemeyer may you rest in peace and our sincere condolences to your parents Tim and Tracey Rodemeyer, his family, friends and love ones! The 14 year old angel took his life on Sunday; September 18, 2011 in Williamsville, NY after being bullied over a year for his sexuality. The boy’s death has the nation at attention, raising bullying awareness (October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community fighting for equality. At the IHeartRadio Festival Lady Gaga did a special tribute of “Hair” to the teenager, and met with the president on Sunday fundraiser for President Obama to discuss bullying awareness.

It’s time to take a stand and rise above ignorance. We live in a generation where it is no longer politically correct to see a neighbor, relative, sibling, friend be a victim of shameful act and sweep it under the rug, or “my name is Benet and I aint in it”. Let’s make a vow/pledge and take a stand against bullying, harassment, domestic violence or any wrongful act against another! It is time that as a society, community, friends and family we starting loving again.

If you or someone you know is struggling dealing with bullying please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255 or visit: stopbullying.gov

Hydrating the Spirit

At times events fall into your life unexpectedly but so needed. This afternoon a stumbled into a Women’s of Faith Conference that gave my spirit something I did not realize it needed. Hope, reassurance, and the light of the Creator my soul was hydrated with a sense of unity. The unity in the belief that life is meant to be lived enjoyed and pieces of us shared with others. Even if all we share with another is a smile, a thank you or just reassurance that the Higher Power has a plan for us. I needed to be surrounded by Women who had such conviction in spirituality and conviction of life.

I have been given a new light on life and I will not waste a minute of it. Leaving my baggage, pain, hurts and argues in the past where it belongs. Moving into the future with new insights that I am made in the Creator’s image and he doesn’t make mistakes. I am perfect just the way I am, I will stumble but continue to walk in the light of the Higher Power. At times we all need are sprits hydrated and to be told that life will work out. Don’t stop living or enjoying any minute of it because it moves so quickly with or without you I plan on living.

Autumn Equinox

Its official autumn as daylight lessens, leaves start to turn beautiful colors and the year is quickly coming to a close. Little goblins will be knocking, stuffing will follow that with a side of cranberries, Saint Nic sliding down the chimney and Baby New Year will make his yearly appearance. We will sit and make a whole new list of resolutions. Before it quickly taps you on the shoulder take the time know to see if you have accomplished anything on this year’s list.

Life goes by so fast and we move through it quickly sometimes not taking the time to enjoy ourselves. Make the resolution to be happy and enjoy yourself with things that truly make you happy. Be it a meal, a walk on the beach, a book or movie you have been putting off, talking to an old friend. Just do it for yourself before you sit to make that 2012 resolution? Over the summer I did just that by reaching out to one of my closest and dearest friends. If felt as if we haven’t spoken in ages I did not want that to continue. It’s been refreshing to speak to her and build up that friendship again.

Let’s take the steps to enjoy the rest of the year. Put ourselves first, stress less and just enjoy life while nursing are mind, body and spirits. Enjoy the cooler weather, the colorful changes that will start taking place and the yummy foods.

"All My Children" The Curtain Falls

The 40 year old soap goes dark today off of television. It may live online but I doubt my grandmother will follow it to its new home she is 80 years old and not computer savvy. I know she will extremely miss these characters. I myself used to catch an episode here or there and will be sad to see Erica and family disappear off the tv screen. Agnes Nixon wrote the following mission for the show when she started 40 years ago.

The Great and the Least,
The Rich and the Poor,
The Weak and the Strong,
In Sickness and in Health,
In Joy and Sorrow,
In Tragedy and Triumph,
You are All MY CHILDREN

Monday will be a sad day for all of the fans of this soap.

Happy “23st” Birthday, Tom Felton!

Better By Children

We have got to do better by children as parents and as a community. In the words of my twelve year old we did not ask to be here. As the adult we made the decision to bring them into this world. A blessing that I thank the Creator daily for because it is not only the besting thing that has ever happen to be to be a parent of two girls. It is also the hardest task that I have been given in my life and I ask for strength daily so that I can do a good job.

We can not wait on the government, educational systems or church’s to give are children the skills, strength and the knowledge of hard work to go out in this world. It is our responsibility to give them all this along with unconditional love daily. As you can see just looking at all the political whoopla going on in the past few months that educating or providing children with the proper health care is the lasting on the agenda. We need to step up and fight for the education system and work hard with them at home to make sure they do not fall behind. Daily letting them know can accomplish anything as long as they are willing to put in the hard work.

Its going to take more then love to raise our children. We need to sit and help with homework, read to them, take interest in there interest, cheer them at there games and support there dreams. We can not wait until they fall into some sort of trouble or have taken their own lives to want to fight for them. Steps must be taken before that to provide them with education, life skills in love so that we are not the one’s crying in the end. My children think I am a little eccentric because I am constantly hugging, kissing and showering them with love. Daily making sure that they our OK so that they never worry about my love for them because I will fight to make sure that they are always OK. I made the decision to have my girls and I will do my best to prepare them for life as adults.

"Don't ask, Don't tell" Repeal

Congrats to the LBGT members of the military who are now free to serve with the cloud of being outted. As of 12:01 AM the rule of “don’t ask, don’t tell rule is gone. In its wake is a policy that is “Blind to Sexual Orientation” allowing all to serve without fear of their sexual orientation being an issue? I hold all that serve in the US military in high regards. They freely serve and keep this country safe regardless of their sexual orientation they deserve our respect and support.

Drake - “Take Care”, Released Date: 10/24/2011

2011’s Summer Anthem “Trust Issues” which is a follow up to “I’m On One” released in June of this year. The single has been remixed and covered by just about everyone. Who did it best?

The Weekend
Justin Bieber
Jojo
AnthonyQ
Richie Blackz

Out of the bunch the major game changer is none other than Justin Bieber! Will his fan base of screaming girls appreciate him singing such ballads: “All I care about is money and the city that I'm from | I'mma sing until I feel it, I'mma go until it's done | I don't need to say wassup and my excuse is that I'm young”. One thing that must be noted is Justin is 17 years old singing topics beyond his age; however, his manger Usher under went similar questions. Singing musical lyrics that were “to grown” for the young prince.

We just need some people to take a look at the way that the two work together, the (admittedly minor) changes they’ve made to their respective styles and lyrics for the track, and the ways in which they work well together.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking is the third trilogy of David Twohy’s Pitch Black and Riddick staring actor: Vin Diesel as Richard B. Riddick. I fell head over heads with him in The Chronicles of Riddick, the eyes, the body and ooh yea I love Sci Fi. Bring it on I am ready to see if Vin still has it!

Got Trey?

Drake may not have been the creator of dropping Mixtape(s) (So Far Gone) prior to releasing an Album (Thank Me Later). However he has set the bar quite high… I must say. Chris Brown dropped a collaborated Mixtape: “Fan Of A Fan” with Tyga before his highly anticipated fourth album: F.A.M.E which is currently gold certified. Breezy has had such a success with his Mixtapes: In My Zone (Rhythm & Streets) I & II he dropped: “Boy In Detention”.

Lil Wayne is Mr. Mixtape King as Jay-z puts it on D.O.A before dropping: “Tha Carter VI” Weezy released: “Sorry 4 The Wait”, which satisfied fans appetite. The new “Guaranteed to be a Billboard 100 Top Hit”, sought out hook singer: Drake released recently: “I am Toronto”, a collaborations of freestyles, and a pre-mature top hits created quite the buzz on the underground scene enough to have fans eagerly waiting for his sophomore album: “Take Care”. Trey Song has jumped on the bag wagon with: “Anticipation” (Released on: 06/30/2009). After his highly successful album: “Ready” he let loose his follow up Album “Passion, Pain, & Pleasure”, which was a major disappointment to fans. Since then he has been lending his vocals on the following songs:

"If It Ain’t About Money" • Lupa Fiasco featuring Trey Songz
"Your Love" • Diddy, Dirty Money featuring Trey Songz
"Out of My Head" • Lupa Fiasco featuring Trey Songz
"Take Off" • Chipmunk featuring Trey Songz
"Can't Get Enough" • J-Cole Chipmunk featuring Trey Songz
The Way You Move" • Ne-Yo featuring Trey Songz and T-Pain

As if he has not saturated radio airways? You guessed correct the singer released yet another Mixtape so lovely entitled: “#Lemmeholddatbeat” (Released: 11/28/2010). This go around for fans until his 5th studio Album: “Chapter 5” to be in stores in early 2012. Trigga has released “#Lemmeholddatbeat 2”. If all goes well he will not push back the release of the album, furthermore; produce tracks as equally as catchy as “Neighbors Know My Name”, “Say Ah” and others. A Previous collaborated album released over the summer was:“Upstairs to My Bed” by DJ Fletch, similar to Drake’s album (So Far Gone) a pre-mature top hits like: “Already Taken”, “Successful” among others.

Several days ago the singer made public “Whoever I Could”, which is a song featured on his soon to be released Mixtape: “Anticipation 2”. Mr. Steal Your Girl is out to make a name for himself out of the shadows of such R&B superstars like R Kelly and Usher. It will take him more then looks to stand out amongst such stars along with a big dose of hard work will also be needed. As we see Trey is willing to put in that work.

The List

We all have those things that we would like to accomplish, places we want to visit, or things we just want to try just once. I am of that mind set that things should be tried or done at least once. We hold are selves back with the mind set of what if? I can’t afford it or maybe next year. It would be a shame if next year never came and there where so many things that we wanted to accomplish that we never did. It is hard but I have slowly started the conscious effort to step out of my comfort zone and started living again. Just enjoying life, family, and friends and traveling. I love visiting new places be it a beach, a beautiful southern town or a bright light city. My budget might not be as huge as some but I a plan on visiting as many places as I can…Asia is a place I would love to visit and after reading that Ludarcis climbed the Great Wall of China I really plan on trying to make that trip!

“I CLIMBED THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA!!! KNOCK IT OFF MY BUCKET LIST11 OR AS I CALL IT MY FUCK IT LIST11” he tweeted.

Later this year I plan on doing some indoor rock climbing with my family. I have been talking about this so much but have not done it yet. I plan on just setting the date and doing it and enjoying every minute of it. Let’s all make the conscious decision to get out of are comfort zones and do something different in the year 2011 as it quickly comes to an end. I can defiantly look back and said I have had a heck of a year and just smile! Visited a Mexican Mayan Pyramid and climbed it, looked at the ocean from a lighthouse and partied my tail of in Vegas. I still have quite a few things to accomplish in the words of Ludacris off my F**k It List!!!

Stand Out Girls -- Rocking on my Fall Play List

The weather is getting cooler; leaves will start turning beautiful shades of reds, oranges and golden yellows. I am going to need some warmth from great singers. Soulful sounds, beautiful voices and excellent lyrics will help my transition from summer into spring. So far this season I fallen in love Goapele, Corrine Rae Baily again and continue my introduction to Ms Jennifer Hudson.

Goapele first hit my radar when that whole Neo Soul started about 10 plus years ago with the likes of Maxwell, Eryka Badu, and Lauren Hill. Goapele dropped a beautiful song called “Closer” in 2001 which is making new rotation with Drake sing his version of Closer to My Dreams. Trust if you have never heard a track by Goapele check her out…her voice is beyond melodic and sensual. Check out her new track “Play” very sensual and perfect for those cool fall nights. Her new album set to drop on October 25th.

Slowly Corinne Bailey Rae with her voice like little bells is starting to engrain herself into my rotation. Magnificent and multi talented ladies with songs that make you want to sit with a glass and relax. Not only is she a beautiful singer but she strums her guitar just as lovely. Her latest CD dropped last year called The Sea. Looking for proof take a listen to her cover of Princes “I Wanna Be Your Lover” off of the The Love E.P. she does the song just while adding her own personal sound to the song. Perfect for a fall night with that special someone or hey just you.

I was pointed in the direction of Jennifer Hudson by my daughter. Who love’s J Hud and had me sit down last year during the Holidays to watch Dream Girls. My initial comment was Ugh…that I had to sit through watching Beyonce attempt to act. True to her word it was worth it to watch Jennifer Hudson sing her heart out. I fell for her on the spot! Her latest album I Remember Me sealed the deal for me…the song “I Remember Me” is a loved song in my house and I just can’t help it “No One Gonna Love You” is my jam. Anyone who has heard Jennifer Hudson or watched a live performance by this woman knows that she is just simply amazing. Let these ladies take you into fall while pulling out sweaters, long pants and closed toed pumps.

“Music Soothes My Soul & Moves My Bones”

Many artist are stepping out of their “comfort zones” and becoming dare devils. For example take Diddy’s “Dirty Money” collaborating with: “Skylar Grey” on the smash hit: “I’m Coming Home”. Before Ja Rule was getting locked up he told the world “Holla, Holla” before he dominating the Hip Hop industry with the following platinum albums: “Rule 3:36, Pain Is Love, and The Last Temptation” before feuding with 50 Cent and vanishing from the music industry. Justin Bieber’s first single: “One Time” was premiered on Urban radio stations because it had that R&B feel like singer: Mario “Just a Friend” before stealing the hearts of little girl. On “Trust Issues”, it appears he is getting back to his urban roots? Many artists are doing the “Crossover”, what makes JB any different!

A crossover is described as:
“A place at which or the means by which a crossing is made”
Reference: Collins English Dictionary – Complete and Unabridged © HarperCollins Publishers 1991, 1994, 1998, 2000, 2003

Taylor Swift jumped out the gate singeing her country ballad: “Tim McGraw” before raining supreme in 2009 for best country AND pop album: “Fearless”.

Before Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love” dominating party stations across Us/AS/NZ/CAN he was double platinum on the Billboard charts with his tribute to home town Atlanta on: “Yeah”.

When Akon dropped his single “Angel” that spiraled and became a major remixed Euro/Electro/Trance hit he was “Locked Up” and “I’m So Paid”. Nowadays he is also known for discovering Queen of Pop “Lady Gaga”.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta AKA Lady Gaga was singing: “Just dance” and “Chilin’” with rapper Wale before reinventing Pop-Culture and 1 of the highest paid woman per Forbes Magazine.

Mr. 305/Pitbull was rolling with the King of Crunk Lil Jon & East Side Boys and let’s not forget the Ying Yang Twins on “Shake” and his lead single “Culo” Catch Mr. Cabaña on the Billboard top 100 with his mega single “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo!

Justin Timberlake maybe cutting it up with T.I, producer Timberland and 50 cent’s now but back in the day he was kicking with it with boy-band NYSNC “Tearin’ Up My Heart” of girls all over the globe.

Before Beyonce (Knowles) could “(Single Ladies) Put A Ring On It” she was touring with Destiny’ Child and going MULTI-platinum with the album “The Writing’s on the Wall”.

Mr. Andree 3000 is known for his rapping skills but when he dropped “Hey Ya!” one forgot the gentlemen debuted with fellow band member: Big Boi and introduced the world to “Stankonia”, “Ms. Jackson” and “BOB”!

Prior to “Runaway Love” speaking to our youth, Ludacris/ Mr. Disturbing the Piece unleashed “What’s Your Fantasy”; the Atlanta based rapper has working with: Enrique Inglesias, David Guetta, Taio Cruz and many other artist.

“…got that Super Bass”, before Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez had the privilege to do there rendition of Nicki Minaj’s 2011 Barbie girl anthem she was “I get Crazy” featuring Lil Wayne!

Biggest cross over is Hot Boyz former member Weezy before doing “Prom Queen” it was “Bling Bling”, now he has paved the way to becoming “The Best Rapper Alive”?

Miss Universe 2011 By Way of Angola

Angola lies on the content of Africa between Namibia, Zambia, DR Congo and the Atlantic Ocean. The newly crowned Miss Universe is Miss Angola, 25 year old, Leila Lopes. What stood out is not that she comes from an African Country but that she is extremely secure in who she is and where she comes from. Her response to the question on what she would change about her physical characteristics if she could.

"I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty," she told the judges and the audience. "I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family, and I plan to follow those through the rest of my life."

Lisa Lopes Miss Universe is satisfied with who she is… most of us would have a list of things that we would want to change about ourselves. No matter how beautiful, well shaped or perfect we are or are told by others. We lose sight at times on what is truly important like inner beauty, values, and the importance of family. Yes Miss Universe is beautiful, intelligent but she has not lost sight of the important things. Those of us raising young girls or just have the power to reach young girls should empower them with that simple quote that we all have “inner beauty” that we should cultivate are lives and spirituality with.

We should also understand that family will motivate us good, bad or motivate us and help us understand were we come from. At times I get saw caught up on what is on the inside that I forget that there is more to myself. Constantly trying to change what I see in the mirror I loose sight that I am good at so many other things. Raising daughter’s I have slowly become less critical about myself and focusing on activities that improve, they mind body and improve relationships with family and friends. The important things in life! Wishing Miss Universe/Miss Angola and wonderful reign in 2011/2012 and thanking her for such a powerful statement.

Happy “31st” Birthday, Ludacris!

(This year (2011) marks the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11!)

10 Years Later "Remembrance"

Where was I on 9/11/01 walking to the train station late for work because I was not feeling well that morning? In unusually Brooklyn style the trains were shut down and not working and the lady behind selling the metro cards was not aware of when they would be back on. It is crazy how vivid I can still remember that day. So I walked down the stairs from Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road jumped on the bus and went to the ChaseBank in Canarsie and road back home. The weird thing was I was not quite sure what was going but could not understand why it was so damn smoky!

By the time I sat on my coach my mother was calling me. She was worried and told me to turn on the television. While we watch the footage of the smoke filled towers together we did not expect the building to fall. I think that is what sticks in my head the most to watch buildings that I have walked in, my father picked up passengers from that area and friends who worked in that building to just collapse and fall. It was a shocking and scary moment that made me feel very humane! I think the saddest moment for me was instead of watching the tower lights that night from my tiny kitchen window but seeing the smoke that just looked dark and ugly. The reason I picked my cute little apartment was that beautiful site. Which I only enjoyed for two years barely it was amazing to watch them light them for Christmas.

The day after the office was closed but I took the train into the city any way just to look from the city we were on about 19th street at that time. It broke my heart to turn around and see smoke and knowing that the towers were gone. Union Park became like missing person’s posters. Picture and information of those people missing from the towers were posted all around. I am gratefully to not have anyone directly connected to me lost to that terrible day. Still it touches you to know that so many people are still dealing with that chunk of their hearts gone from that terrible death. Unexpected death is hard to deal with you still think that person will just show up. Ten years later footage, articles and pictures can still reduce me to tears.

A Letter to Big Business

“We should be giving tax breaks to companies who invest in jobs in the United States of America?” President Obama. “How can we help small businesses grow and hire more employees?" WOW very powerfully questions that in my opinion helps with production, producing and consuming of American made. I am Haitian born, Brooklyn raised and American through citizenship and I attempt to purchase not only national products but local products. In my mind set it helps to keep local and national company’s a float which helps my neighbor’s earn a paycheck.

Like Eminem who believes in his city Detroit and its factory’s I believe in factors as the backbone of many family’s. I was raised, feed, housed, clothed and educated by parents who worked in factories. My parents both worked in clothing factories, at one point my dad worked in a factory that produced small equipment, my mom while I was in college worked in a factor that produced VHS…which like dinosaurs has been put to death by DVDs. My point is at one time you could take a ride on the B or D train line and look into the window of factories know I doubt you can find a handful in Manhattan. I am always on the side of the debate to bring home jobs for the people of this nation so that they can consume more. The debate on the other side is usually sending production overseas frees those hear to work on more technological jobs.

I honestly do not see it especially with the way the education system is going. Yes bring jobs back but we also need to education adults who are transitioning jobs along with are young people. This nations needs to start making a lot of changes to help keep the United States of America as a major world power. This can not be done if we continue to stay in debt as a nation; its citizens are unemployed, and undereducated!!! Big Business help yourselves stay in business and wearing expensive suit’s by helping the people of your nation.

As if we haven’t had enough of the Pop Star, Barney’s New York is making it a: “Very Gaga Christmas"! The two will collaborate on a Holiday Campaign called: “Gaga’s Workshop” which will be up for display on the entire floor of Madison Avenue in Mid-November! I don't think Barney's New York or Christmas will ever be the same once Gaga and her monsters take over!

Welcome to This Week's "Throw-Back | Thursday"!

Destruction of Glitter’s “Throw Back Thursday” Top 5 Songs:

“Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” Fall Out Boy (2005)
“Unwell” Matchbox Twenty (2004)
“Crazy in Love” Beyonce featuring Jay-Z (2003)
“Inside Your Heaven” Carrie Underwood (2005)
“Without Me” Eminem (2002)

"The Lady is a Tramp"

It’s hard to not love Lady Gaga; she is a talented, singer song writer along with excellent piano skills. She is true to herself and stands up for her beliefs standing under the Rainbow Coalition Flag but I think she might just find a new crop of little monster’s in the jazz world by joining Tony Bennett on his new jazz album. Let’s not forget the girl did study drama and seems to love show tunes. Tony Bennett described Lady Gaga a few days ago as: “The Biggest”! Ms. Gaga declares “I’m A Tramp”! on the collaborated single “The Lady Is a Tramp” on the Jazz Legend’s album “Duets II” that is to be released on: September 20, 2011. The album is in junction with the singers 85th birthday and a sequel to “Duets: An American Classic”. Which features other artist such as Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Queen Latifah, Aretha Franklin and much more!

Twitter/FaceBook/News HOT Discussion | Buzz

The very controversial Soulja Boy has found himself in deep waters when he released “Let’s Be Real” when he states: "F**k the troops…". This is another instance where entertainers fail to consider the effects/consequences of their actions! News flash: you’re not exempt from your actions because you’re a superstar!

"As an artist, I let my words get the best of me. Sometimes there are things that we feel, things that we want to express, and when we put them on paper and speak them out loud, they can come out wrong." - Soulja Boy

Nonetheless he has now apologized and as of today he is having an “edited version” of the song released to radio stations and removed off of his album to be released later this year.

“Hardest Working Rhythm & Blues (RnB) Artist”

On my recent road trip all I heard on the radio was Christopher Maurice Brown. Just call Chris Brown the: “Come Back Kid”. 2010 he dropped “Graffiti”; however, “I can Transform Ya” didn’t hit the airways the way the Singer, Dancer, Song-Writer, and Actor expected. With Tyga & Kevin McCall by his side he “unleashed the beast” for all those who doubted his abilities on “Deuces”. With his domestic violence charges in 2009 in his rearview and his outstanding BET performance in 2010 doing his tribute to “the Leader of The Jackson 5” he is officially operating at his full potential. Find Chris Brown featured on the following songs blaring thru your speakers:

“Champion” - Chipmunk featuring Chris Brown
“My Last”Big Sean Chris Brown
“One Night Stand”Keri Hilson featuring Chris Brown
“Best Love Song”T-Pain featuring Chris Brown
“Pot Of Gold”Game featuring Chris Brown
“Body 2 Body”Ace Hood featuring Chris Brown
“Better With The Lights Off”New Boyz featuring Chris Brown

Chris has released 2 Mixtapes: Fan Of A Fan with Tyga and Boy In Detention and a collaborated Mixtape with Justin Beiber in the works. In the words of Tunechi (Weezy F. Baby) “Good was not home so he settled for BETTER”. Standing ovation for the youngest hardest artist in the game, Mr. Breezy! For the non believers of his hard work look out for his next album called "Fortune" in 2012.

Unexpected Guilty

It is an understatement to say "some people buckle under pressure". Another high profile case beside Casey Anthony is: "Millionaire's Lover Committed Suicide. If you have not been keep up with "Stephen King's Novel"? I strongly advised you to Google the names: Jonah Shacknai/Rebecca Nalepa (Zahou) to read the tragic story of a woman who committed suicide after her husband's son died after falling down the stairs in there mansion. The definition of guilt is the feeling of responsibility or remorse whether real or imagined. The death of a child is a very sad fact not easy for the parents or people who become close to them. Rebecca Zahou might not have been able to handle the fact that a young child that she has grown to love died because of a fall in her care. Is it buckling under pressure or the consumption of guilty and or fear of the consequences? Life is meant to be lead but how do we get over pain, hurt, guilt or just mistakes that we have made. To continue to live our lives to the fullest for me it is just to continue to get up daily, smile, laugh even when I don't feel like it and hope that all will work its self out.

Meet the Candidates: Michele Bachmann

A for run for the Republican’s is Michele Bachmann of Minnesota who if she becomes president would get rid of the Department of Education. Hand the educational decision to States, local communities and parents. Was the Educational Department not set up in able to level the education system across the board in attempt to also streamline money evenly? To make sure that all received the best education that is possible. The education system still has enough holes, money is still not evenly handed out and not all receive a quality education. I can just imagine what will come if the Educational Department is dismantled for those who live in poor areas of the town, cities in the country who are receiving sub level education as it is. Please let’s get to know the candidates and what they stand for. They just might be the next president of the country…as one responded on the sound off board on CNN Ticker….you do not want the government to step in and help with education but you want to monitor what I do with my uterus.

"Baggage", We All Have It. Whether We Like To Admit It/Not!

“Bag lady you gone miss your bus| Bag lady you gone miss your bus | You can't hurry up | Cause you got too much stuff | You can't hurry up | Cause you got too much stuff…”

Erykah Badu - “Bag Lady”, 2000 | Mama’s Gu|\|

I think we all “under estimate” the power of those around us at one point. We become entangling in other’s problems. Crippled by the baggage of our family, friends and loved ones. Not to mention our own issues. I have come to the realization that there is no such thing as “stress/drama free”. As the Chinese say you can’t have the “Yin without the Yang”. If you answer yes to any of the below instances than welcome to reality

Children (EX: baby mama/daddy issues)
Relationship Frustration (EX: divorce/single)
Career Development (EX: advancement)
Finical (EX: foreclosure/unemployment)
Self Esteem (EX: social butterfly/introvert)
Body Image (EX: Bulimia/obesity)
Parent Aggravation (EX: not living to their expectations)
Peer Pressure (EX: trying to fit in)

I state all this to lead up to this statement: There are almost a trillion people on earth either experiencing the same or enduring something graver, so what makes you an exception? Before you decided to take your frustrations on someone else, just image what he/she is going thru.

Who Are You?

The other day I happened to be listening to a radio station who was interviewing a newly divorced man who stated he sacrificed 25 years to his family and ex-wife and has nothing to show for himself. He called to get tips from the disc jockey on how he could re-invent his self. The caller stated it's been so long ago that he had an opportunity to sit back and reflect on solely him. The call was powerful and moved me. How the gentlemen couldn't remember what he liked let alone his favorite song or ice cream flavor because he lost sight of who he was.

There are/will be moments in our life that will leave us flabbergasted. We will look back on past times and either laugh, cry or/and both. Which ever emotion happens, remembers what does not/did not hurt you has/will make you stronger. Leave all the loving and longing behind. No need for crying over spoiled milk. We are all entitled to our good and bad days. Furthermore our highs and lows we are human therefore not perfect.

At times we allow ourselves to fall into patterns. Robots, who work, go home, care for family, etc. We only have one life let’s start living it. Try something new, order a new meal at lunch, listen to a different radio station, learn a new language, hey even give a stranger a handshake/high-five, or a hug. Don’t look back 5 years from today and wish you had the opportunity to try something new.

Let us never forget who we are, individualism is a must!

Applications

Which TEAM are you rooting/bating for “I Phone Market Share” | “Android Market”? Torn between the two, A-Okay because these grand spanking APPS are available on both Market’s and let’s not forget at no cost to the mobile user! Here are my TOP 3 favorite applications:

Shop Savvy – It’s a recession on the verge of a depression. If you’re like me and shopping on a budget take “Shop Savvy” for a spin. Take a picture of the item your purchasing at your department store and let the APP find the current store selling the identical item the cheapest.

TODO – If you are OCD like me, or love “sticky notes” this is right up your alley. The name states it all. Easy, convenient, book marks reminders, and syncs to all calendars.

FOODUCATE – You are what you eat. Before snacking on that snickers bar take a snap shot of the bar code to see what you’re about to indulge in.
