Jamey Rodemeyer may you rest in peace and our sincere condolences to your parents Tim and Tracey Rodemeyer, his family, friends and love ones! The 14 year old angel took his life on Sunday; September 18, 2011 in Williamsville, NY after being bullied over a year for his sexuality. The boy’s death has the nation at attention, raising bullying awareness (October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community fighting for equality. At the IHeartRadio Festival Lady Gaga did a special tribute of “Hair” to the teenager, and met with the president on Sunday fundraiser for President Obama to discuss bullying awareness.
It’s time to take a stand and rise above ignorance. We live in a generation where it is no longer politically correct to see a neighbor, relative, sibling, friend be a victim of shameful act and sweep it under the rug, or “my name is Benet and I aint in it”. Let’s make a vow/pledge and take a stand against bullying, harassment, domestic violence or any wrongful act against another! It is time that as a society, community, friends and family we starting loving again.
